What are the differences between African elephants and
Asian elephants?
The differences between Asian elephants and African
elephants are primarily that Asian elephants
have noticeably smaller ears. Usually only the male
Asian elephants have visible tusks. The skin of Asian
elephants is not as wrinkly as that of African elephants.
At the end of their trunks, Asian elephants only have one
"finger", rather than 2 in the case of African elephants. The
backs of Asian elephants are also different from African
elephants being dome shaped.
